6 Week Beginners and Improvers Throwing Course

Suitable for complete newcomers to clay, or people looking to improve their skills after a beginners course. This course runs once a week on Thursdays for two and half hours over a 6 week period. Choose between a morning (10am), afternoon (2pm) or evening (6:30pm) slot.
The first three classes will be focusing on the basics of throwing on the wheel, beginning with how to centre and pull a cylinder and moving on how to stretch the clay into bowls and other forms. On the fourth class students will start to turn their work from the first 3 classes. The fifth class you will be moving to throwing bowls and the final class will be dedicated to glazing your work from a selection of our house glazes and turning your bowl if you wish to keep it.
Each attendee will have their own dedicated potters wheel, with a maximum of 6 people per class. You pay one fee for the clay, glaze and firing at the leatherhard stage. The current amount is displayed in the studio is per kilo includes the bisque firing, the glazes and 2nd firing. There will be essential Health and Safety advice in the first week and ongoing instruction as required during the course. You are advised to arrive on time and not to miss a class, the lessons are structured so you learn progressively and consistently. Please read the Terms and Conditions in the Classes drop down menu, you will be asked to agree when you make your booking.

If you have to miss a class and we are given at least a weeks notice we will try and find a make up class for you within your 6 week block, but please be aware this may not always be possible.

Every Thursday starting June 6th until July 11th, with classes running for 2.5 hrs at 10am, 2pm or 6:30pm. Taught By Prashant.
September to October Cycle -
Every Thursday starting September 12th until October 17th, with classes running for 2.5 hrs at 6:30pm. Taught By Prashant. More daytime slots for this course will open up on June 6th.
