Based in South West London, in the heart of East Sheen, established by potter Lindy Barletta.

Sheen Pottery Studio provides classes, courses and studio membership, with the studio also acting as a shop and gallery with solo exhibitions of some of the countries best contemporary potters. For invites to Private Views, Demonstrations and Talks by visiting makers please join the mailing list on the landing page or use the box below. The classes and courses come in a range of options starting with one-off taster sessions and beginners classes, moving on to intermediate/advanced and ongoing courses and studio membership. All classes are taught by professional potters who have a passion for teaching and sharing their love of ceramics and the art of making using traditional and modern skills.

The classes are kept small, in groups of 6 (maximum capacity could be up to 12 for private event bookings). By keeping the classes to a limited number this allows for an intimate experience where each student can thoroughly enjoy learning the traditional skills of making in clay and with plenty of one on one tutor time during the lesson

Testimonial:

‘I enjoyed nearly 6 years of pottery class with Lindy and core group of potters, beginning at ground zero and under her guidance progressing to competently throw on my own.  In addition to general tuition, Lindy was always available to share techniques, guide correction of missteps, and encourage me in my efforts.  The 2.5-hour class went by seemingly in minutes, with no thoughts except trying to produce a nice piece of pottery.  It was a thoroughly enjoyable chance to create something tangible from a slab of clay, trying new techniques, colours, and shapes – to make a pleasing finished product.  I look forward to the opportunity to join her in the new studio.’  -- Bill Morrow

Classes and Courses

Taking a pottery class is a mindful and creative experience for anyone, no experience is necessary. Forget the world outside for a few hours and make something tangible that you can take home and feel proud about. You can try a Taster Session in a group of up to six, or a one to one session, to see if you would like to learn more. Then join a small Group Class, either Hand building or Throwing on the wheel. The group classes are sociable, regular groups where people meet to make in clay and can be booked in blocks of 6 weeks. Or if you are more experienced maker you can subscribe to Studio Membership. Please discuss Studio membership directly with Lindy to work out the best contract for you.

There is also an Adult and Child (aged 8-15) at Saturday Morning Pottery Club session. Spend some quality time in a creative and calm studio, making a gift or just enjoying the clay experience.

It is possible to hire the studio privately for up to 12 people, for a fun pottery session with handbuilding and wheel throwing. Please contact Lindy to discuss further.
