Intermediate Practice Sessions - Drop In

£40 per session

Untutored wheel throwing practice sessions on Tuesday mornings and evenings and Saturday mornings (other days may be available outside of school term time). Suitable for proficient makers who have taken a course at Sheen Pottery or at another recognised college or studio and who are of an Intermediate level, looking to improve their skills. Some knowledge of ceramic health and safety and good studio etiquette is required. Please contact the studio via email to discuss this further if you are unsure of the requirements

Each session is 2.5 hrs long. This is purely an opportunity for those who are more experienced throwers to practice their techniques on their own. There will be someone present at the studio who is familiar with the space and where everything is, but there will be no tuition available.

Each attendee will have their own dedicated potters wheel. Please finish working 15 minutes before the end of the session to allow proper clearing up and to finish on time. We ask that you read through our terms and conditions before booking a session. There is a brief over view of studio rules for drop in sessions at the bottom of this page for you consideration, you will be asked to sign copy of our studio rules and guidelines upon your first visit that outlines our guidlines in more detail.

We will include 4kg of stoneware clay per session. (You can reuse or recycle this clay as required during the session).  If you wish to have additional clay the cost is £5.00 per kilo.  There is a weigh and pay system for any work you would like fired at £5.00 per kilo, this includes two firings and glaze regardless of whether you glaze or not. All work for firing must be weighed at leatherhard stage, stamped and recorded in the Clay Dues Book. Please settle your clay/firing dues regularly - by card is fine.

We also offer a package deal for drop in sessions, consisting of 10 sessions for £350. Upon purchase you will receive a code which you can use when selecting your dates through the timetable shown to the left. This code will only be valid for 10 classes.
