Meet the potter

Lindy first touched clay aged 11 at Westwing School where the art teacher Mrs. Hesketh was a keen potter and Lindy was hooked.  For the next two years every art lesson was in clay.  Lindy’s mother has the complete collection!

A career change at 26 lead into interior design where Lindy’s talent for colour and pattern was allowed to develop to the full. Wallpapers, fabrics and curtain designs were put together to decorate some of the grandest houses in the UK, USA and Australia.

Marriage and children brought the need to find a creative outlet and Lindy found ceramic evening classes at St. Pauls School, West London under the tutor and potter George Wilson.  Three years later and a move to Kingston Community college, a level 3 City and Guilds Ceramics course for one year and a Glaze & Firing level 3 LOCN course  and Lindy knew this was what she wanted to do forever. A further intensive course with the brilliant David and Margaret Frith at the Brookside Pottery sealed her direction and determination to succeed in clay. Lindy has recently undertaken three masterclasses with well known potters; Gareth Mason, Phil Rogers and Takeshi Yasuda.
